Modoc Child Care Resource & Referral Program
These programs are designed to provide payment of child care costs to families who meet certain need requirements, such as employment, education, training, homelessness, and other special needs.

Cal-Learn Program
The Cal-Learn program is for pregnant and parenting teens. It is our mission to assist pregnant and parenting students to stay in school, meet their objectives, and enhance their parenting skills and resources. This program is designed to encourage teen parents receiving government assistance to graduate from high school or its equivalent and to become self-sufficient. Cal-Learn is a state wide mandatory entitlement program for teen parents under the age of 19 who have not yet graduated.

Car Seat Assistance Program

Always remember to buckle your child into the seat and make sure the seat is correctly installed in the vehicle every time! Let us help you make sure you can afford a suitbale car seat and that you have the knowledge to use it!

RAINBOW Program
The RAINBOW Program is for Children birth to three years of age that may need evaluation for a developmental delay or have been diagnosed with a developmental delay.

Family Matters: Parenting
T.E.A.C.H., Inc. uses the Nurturing Parenting programs. These programs are family centered classes that focus on building nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to spanking, hitting, and yelling. The classes are for both the parents and the children learning similar skills with children learning at their developmental level.

"Good Grief" Group
With Dr. Roxanna Andrews as facilitator, TEACH sponsors a weekly group for those who are still reeling from the death of a loved one. It meets weekly on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. in the conference room.  The four tasks of grieving are the basic foundation of the group.  One must be past the first six weeks of the loss before joining the group; otherwise there are no pre-conditions to participate.

How You Can Help Others

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)
CASA Volunteers are everyday citizens judges appoint to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who have been removed from thier homes due to parental abuse and neglect. They stand up for these children to change thier lives.

Modoc Child Care Resource and Referral will provide technical assistance to any child care provider residing in Modoc County wishing to become a licensed family child care provider. Our agency is especially interested in those providers who are willing to care for infants and toddlers

Senior Peer Counceling
The goal of the program is to help older members of the community remain living in their own home while aging gracefully.  Needed are mature citizens who are willing to volunteer a couple hours each week to visit with and support these homebound seniors. First the peer counselors will be trained and then they will visit with and assist senior citizens who need support to remain living on their own.

Home-Based Hospice Care
TEACH is in the process of setting up care for those who are terminally ill. A doctor needs to refer the patient to Hospice and continue supervising the medical care of that person.  Volunteering in the home, the Hospice worker may perform a variety of helpful services.
